Rangers seal £8.5m Kim Min-Su deal ahead of Conference League clash

Rangers have reached an agreement to sign 20-year-old South Korean winger Kim Min-Su from Girona for £8.5 million, triggering a release clause in his contract. The 20-year-old, who can operate on either flank, will undergo a medical before travelling to Glasgow, with the move expected to be completed within 48 hours.

Impact on Rangers

Kim will become the 12th new arrival of the summer at Ibrox, following the signing of Daisuke Yokota from Hannover. The move comes after a failed attempt to bring PSV winger Couhaib Driouech to the club. If the transfer is finalised before the weekend, Kim could make his debut in the Premier League clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday. However, he would be ineligible for the Thursday Conference League play-off second leg against Jablonec, where Rangers lead 1-0 from the first leg.

Celtic’s Injury Update

Celtic’s right-back Alistair Johnston is ruled out until October after suffering a hamstring injury in the club’s recent win at Kilmarnock. Martin O’Neill said the prognosis is “sometime in October” and that Celtic will look to strengthen their defence before the September 3 transfer deadline.
