Celtic must improve ahead of their Champions League showdown with LASK, according to the Austrian champions' goalkeeper Lukas Jungwirth. The Austrian champions have made a perfect start to their title defence but know the real threat is looming in their Champions League do-or-die showdown.
LASK made it two wins on the spin in the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win over Austria Wien, but not everyone is rejoicing. Jungwirth admitted that his side weren't at their best in the win and that they need to improve ahead of their showdown with Celtic.
Concerns over Celtic's recent splurge are not lost on LASK as they prepare to face a revamped £24m frontline in Kasper Hogh, Camilo Duran, and Haissem Hassan. Speaking after Sunday's win over Wien, Jungwirth said: "Around the time of the offside goal, we relied too much on possession and weren't mentally prepared for Austria's counter-attacks. We also need to be more clinical at the end; we might be punished for that against other opponents."
LASK's winning start has been impressive, but Jungwirth isn't too despondent. He added: "I think if you go home with a 2-0 win as the favourites, you can definitely be satisfied."
Celtic are currently 3 points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian in the title race and have been in impressive form, winning their last 5 games. They will be looking to continue their winning streak against LASK in the Champions League.
