Celtic's Liam Scales Teaches Gaelic Football Skills to Teammates
Celtic's Liam Scales has been teaching his teammates Gaelic football skills in training ahead of their opening SPFL game against Dundee next Monday. The Ireland international, who played Gaelic football in his youth, is a proud Gaelgeoir. Celtic's new signing Kasper Høgh trained with the squad for the first time since joining from Bodø/Glimt for a club-record fee of £11 million. The squad gave him a warm welcome at the club's training ground of Lennoxtown.
The clip, posted on Twitter by Irish fan Adam Lynch, shows Scales teaching a group of players, including captain Callum McGregor, some of the unique skills of Gaelic football. Scales is seen taking a shoulder from teammate Kieran Tierney, before Tierney attempts a Gaelic football lift off the ground (unsuccessfully). Scales then shows Tierney how it's done - it's safe to say the Scotland international was not exactly an expert on the technique.
Celtic's recent form has been impressive, with the team currently sitting third in the Premiership table, 3 points behind leaders Heart Of Midlothian. They have won their last 5 games, scoring 59 goals and conceding 35, resulting in a +24 goal difference.
